Our Beaver Colony is where the journey begins — a place full of energy, imagination, and first adventures. Every Wednesday during term time, our 6–8‑year‑olds come together to try new things, make friends, and grow in confidence through fun, hands‑on activities.

From 5:45PM (Drop Off) - To: 7:00 PM (Collection)
🌈 What Beavers Do
Beavers get stuck into a huge variety of activities — indoors, outdoors, creative, active, and everything in between. Recent adventures include:
- Pirate‑themed nights
- Tobogganing and sledging
- Nature walks and mini‑hikes
- Craft and building challenges
- Games that build teamwork and confidence
- Learning new skills in fun, age‑appropriate ways
Every session is designed to be welcoming, safe, and full of laughter. Our programme helps Beavers grow their independence, curiosity, and sense of belonging.

Beavers work towards a wide range of badges as they explore new skills, try fun activities, and take part in adventures with their friends. Badges are designed to build confidence, curiosity, and teamwork — and Beavers love earning them.
⭐ Core Badges
These badges help Beavers settle into the Colony and celebrate their journey:
- Membership Award – for joining and learning what it means to be a Beaver
- Joining In Awards – marking each year of active Scouting
- Challenge Awards – bigger achievements earned through a mix of skills, teamwork, outdoor fun, and creativity
- Chief Scout’s Bronze Award – the highest award a Beaver can earn
🎨 Activity Badges
Beavers can earn badges for all sorts of interests and skills, including:
- Adventure
- Camp Craft
- Experiment
- Hobbies
- Sports
- Collector
- Gardener
- Cook
- Digital Maker
These badges are woven into our programme so Beavers learn through doing — not sitting still.
🌲 Outdoor & Adventure Highlights
Our programme is packed with age‑appropriate adventure, including:
- Mini‑hikes and nature trails
- Tobogganing and sledging
- Outdoor games and teamwork challenges
- Learning simple navigation and safety skills
- Seasonal activities like campfires, water fun, and den building
🎉 Creative & Skills‑Based Fun
We balance outdoor adventure with hands‑on creativity:
- Craft and building challenges
- Themed nights (pirates, space, superheroes, and more)
- Simple science experiments
- Cooking and food‑based activities
- Problem‑solving games that build confidence and teamwork
🧭 Working Towards the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award
Throughout their time in Beavers, young people gradually complete:
- 6 Challenge Awards
- A selection of Activity Badges
- Teamwork and leadership tasks
- Outdoor adventures and community activities
By the time they move up to Cubs, they’ve built a brilliant foundation of skills, friendships, and confidence.
